The Irene Family: Giving for the Greater Good
Sandy Irene taught his children that helping others is the single greatest achievement one can aspire to, especially when the good intentions come straight from the heart. It’s also the main reason behind their recent family gifts to Cardiology, Radiology and Oncology at Morristown Medical Center.
“We came from very modest means and our father taught us to never forget that,” says son Lawrence Irene.
Hard work and humility kept the Irene family focused on building the American Dream for themselves while looking out for the interests of their neighbors.
“Working together in our father’s pharmacy has shaped our understanding of community health, and helping others has always been central to that concept,” says the Mendham resident, a sentiment echoed by his siblings Robert and Lauren.
They believe that supporting the hospital will benefit everyone.
“As a part of this community for more than 20 years, we want to see the hospital thrive with the most advanced resources, up-to-date medical equipment and ongoing professional education for staff,” he adds. “Our goal is to help Morristown Medical Center offer the very best care and have it accessible to the entire community.”
