Wedding Donations in Memory of Charles "Butch" Douthit
We could not be more excited to spend our wedding day with you. It will surely be a day that we will remember forever and having you be a part of that memory means the world to us. As joyous as our wedding day will be, there is one man who cannot join us. Dana’s father, the late Charles “Butch” Douthit, passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 7, 2014. We wanted to find a way to remember Butch as we celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, and we thought there is no better way to do that than to give back to the woman who helped extend Butch’s time with his family and who works tirelessly to extend the lives of those suffering from pancreatic cancer.
In lieu of a gift registry, we would ask that all gifts be made in the form of a donation to Dr. Angela Alistar’s research at Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. Dr. Alistar’s research is extending the lives of her patients in a truly remarkable way. While working with Butch, Dr. Alistar gave Butch, Dana, Laney, and Justin time together that was invaluable. The greatest gift we could ask of you for our wedding would be a donation to the Carol G. Cancer Center, allowing Dr. Alistar to give those precious additional moments to more families like ours.
2017, will still be a day of celebration! We know that this is not “traditional” and in no way do we want anyone to be saddened by Butch’s passing. We are anything but traditional, and we try to leave an impact in each and every moment of our lives on the people around us. Thank you so much for your donations; it means the world to us and will mean the world to families all over the East Coast. We look forward to seeing you on our wedding day!
