Nearly ten years after Mickey’s Garden was dedicated by Kids4Kids – the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center's youth philanthropy committee for Goryeb Children's Hospital – the garden will expand to meet the needs of today’s patients. The $100,000 renovation, which will begin this spring, is funded entirely by donations and includes widening the walkways with a durable playground surface to accommodate wheelchairs; sunshades to protect against too much glare; and electrical outlets placed on outside walls for IV pole hook-ups. These enhancements will allow patients the freedom to stay outside for longer periods.
The following donors contributed to the project:
Kids4Kids raised $43,000 from their annual Family Fun Day and Juniors for Goryeb fundraising events.
The Employee Basket Raffle at Morristown Medical Center raised $52,000.
Elite Toma Martial Arts, located in Randolph Township, raised $18,000 from their annual Break-A-Thon for Charity.
