Former Foundation for Morristown Medical Center Trustee and donor Bill Conger knows what it’s like to watch a loved one struggle with a chronic disease. His mother endured the slow decline of Alzheimer’s disease for 15 years, as did his grandmother before her. Since then, two of his friends now struggle with the early stages of dementia. As a caretaker for family and friends, when he found out there was an opportunity to help fund a caregiver training series at Morristown Medical Center, he was quick to endow the course in its entirety.

As an emergency medical technician, Karen Zatorski was used to being in the middle of health-related traumas. She was not prepared, however, for her mother’s upper respiratory infection, which forced Carmela O’Rourke to be rushed to the Sameth Emergency Department at Morristown Medical Center.
As her condition took a turn for the worse, the 77-year-old Morris Plains resident was transferred to the Nancy and Skippy Weinstein Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care Center.

Barry Lenson loves his morning routine. He comes downstairs and makes coffee for his wife, Fran Taber, and carries the cups back upstairs for them to enjoy before work.
